Apple needed to really sell those iPads. Rivals are getting closer and closer to beat Apple's iPad with their own tablets. Hence why Steve Jobs was there. They want to widen the gap between Apple and tablet competitors.

Yes but they cannot rush these things as they have a plan and it worked for the iPod and phone. Release a very basic model, a year later release a model with an extra feature or two, a year after that another model with yet a couple more features and so on and so forth.

This is just one of the problems with technology. You buy something and the next day there's a better one. Does Apple have an exchange policy? Where you give them your old device, plus a fee, and you get the new one? I know Best Buy has one.

It's less a problem with technology and more to do with Apple treating people like idiots and unfortunately a lot of people prove them right :| I admit that the iPhone/Pad looks god and has excellent eye candy but both are missing basic features their rivals already have and the rivals don't limit what you can do.

I do think that the iPad 2 has the same amount of RAM as the older version, and that it's camera may be lacking a lot, maybe even worse than the iPod's camera.

Over here, there's not a return policy, but if you bought the original iPad within the last 2 weeks you can get a refund of about AU$180, the difference between the original price and the new discounted prices now that the iPad 2 has been announced.

I'm not a apple fanboy, I hate the guts of that company - The only device I have from them is a 1st gen iPod Touch but that's because it's a good device. I will not be purchasing a iPad 2 either, obviously; I haven't even looked at any sources which list the specifications etc yet.

I think since the Motorola Xoom has been launched, there will be some serious compeition.

Agree with you. And you later reagret ot waiting for a while for a better thing. But I haven't haerd of the "exhange programme", but it would be great.
