RE: Computers
I prefer Desktop running linux but I'm stuck with Windows right now for ease of use. I have a laptop but I hardly use it unless I'm working on site.

RE: Computers
It depends on what I am doing. For more serious work, like coding, homework, and so forth I prefer a desktop. The keyboard for one thing is much better (at least the one I have), more monitor space is nice, and so forth. Plus it can be nice to be at a desk... I could use a laptop at a desk in theory, but I never do. For lighter stuff like IMing and web surfing I prefer a laptop because I can kick back in a recliner, be on a bed, or any other number of comfortable things. Plus the portability allows me to take it around with me. Although I can be more productive with a desktop and probably use my desktop more than a laptop, I would have to say that I prefer a laptop simply because I like being able to take the machine around with me.
And this netbook is an epic win for portability I must say... I am on it now and am actually starting to like the smaller keyboard for a reason that defies all logic. |

RE: Computers
I have a netbook for when I just need something I can slip in a pocket like on my doctor mandated 20 mile bike rides (stop at panera bread halfway, leech free intarweb), ... a full on laptop I use when due to medical reasons I'm stuck in bed or when I'm just too lazy to get out of bed, a more durable laptop that I use on the road or when I go to gaming (since I have all my sourcebooks in .pdf - nicer than carrying around 200 pounds of books), and my workstation which I use for both work and gaming.

If we are wise what is born of that pain matures into the promise of a better world - because we learn that we can no longer afford the mistakes of the past. - Citizen G'Kar |

RE: Computers
I prefer laptop. As i sit on my recliner and code. However if I'm preforming business, I use my desktop in my office. (Or playing games
) Windows Vista here. My office server is Dell, I haven't had any trouble out of it yet, But its a local server only though. |
