Personal Update....

Just wanted to post to explain my coming absense to you all, especially Ryan and Jason.

The place I recently rented includes electricity in the rental price. My electric was shut off yesterday afternoon due to a default between the apartment complex and utility company.

As a result, I'm now being forced to use legal recourse against the complex, and I'm seeking an alternative place to rent.

I'm going to be just fine, and I'll pobably be back rather quickly - but as it stands, I have no power at home, which means no Internet, and I'm staying with a friend until I rent a new place (over the next few days, I hope). This throws a bit of a wrench for me, but it will all work out in due time.

No need to worry about me, as I'm fairly confident I've got it all under control - but it is going to render me incognito on all of my current projects - my site, LT, etc. - for a week or two (guesstimating) days.

So, sorry to disappear again so soon, but this was truly out of my control and I'm doing all I can to repair the situation as fast as possible.

The good news is, the next place I rent I will definitely not be dependent on anyone else for my utilities, and I'm fairly certain it will be a nicer place, so we can pretty much count on this not happening again.

I'm dealing with it well - currently headed to check out a 2 bedroom with $99 move-in special. If that works out like I hope, I might actually benefit from this whole ordeal.

Well, I just discovered a wonderful little app for my blackberry called Opera Mini which makes browsing LT a lot friendlier on my blackberry. Unfortunately, it will be short lived as I still have no way to chrage the blackberry.

I'm on night 4 of cold showers and no heat, and it's beginning to get to us. I've still had no luck finding an alternative place to live, so we're trying to get an advocate group to advocate for us at our complex, as many of the tenants are doing.

I'm not sure what the outcome will be yet, and things are quite rough here right now, but I'll try to keep you guys posted. I hope to be back soon.

Keep me in your thoughts (or prayers, if that suits you).

I have been working on this site and hope to talk to DS about it when I'm next on. I've not been online the past few days as I haven't had access.

Update:

I'm in the process of filing a lawsuit against my former landlord for reasons described above. It looks as if I might end up with a small settlement against them, but it's almost not worth the month-or-more-long headache I've been dealing with.

I'm currently renting a hotel room on a weekly rate, which will likely be refunded to me in court via a settlement - along with more for trouble causes, damages and suffering. The hotel does have a wifi, but it's a bit dodgy of a connection, so I've had a lot of trouble browsing consistently. I've been working with hotel management this morning to resolve the connection issues, and it seems as if it's doing better, but we will see how long it lasts.

I'm hoping to rent a new place in early April. The plan has a lot of dependencies though, so it's hard for me to say exactly what is going to happen on what timeframe at this point. What I can say is that I'm working this all out, and I will be back to normal in the near future.

Meantime, I'm going to make an extra effort to maintain activity on LT using this wifi connection here at the hotel.
