RIP Dan Schulz
For those of you who haven't heard, Dan Schulz has been ill with the flu and pneumonia for a few weeks, and died last night from complications.
Dan's been a good friend of mine for about 13 years, and I still picture him as that fresh faced 17 year old I took under my wing to teach HTML. In time the apprentice became the master... but more than that he was my friend... and I'm still in shock I outlived him. His brother suspects the hospital being at fault, since a few days ago he claims to have overheard the nurses talking about sending him home instead of keeping him for observation because he didn't have health insurance. Given the horror stories Dan told me about medical care in his area, in particular dealing with his mother's own illness, I don't doubt the story. Goodbye Dan, you will be missed. It is said that the future is always born in pain. The history of war is the history of pain. !!! WHAT?! I'm so sorry to hear that!
